Overview
Chopta is a serene, high-altitude meadow in Uttarakhand, India, serving as the base for trekking to Tungnath, the world’s highest Shiva temple (3,680m), and the Chandrashila summit (3,960m). Often called the “Mini Switzerland of India,” it is a popular year-round trekking destination, best visited from April to June for lush greenery or January to March for snow.
