Why go to Goa
Goa is India's favourite beach state, and for good reason. North Goa brings the buzz with busy beaches, markets and nightlife, while South Goa slows things down with quieter shores and long sunsets. Add Portuguese-era churches, colourful old neighbourhoods, seafood shacks and water activities, and you have a trip that works whether you want to party, relax or explore. It is also one of the easiest places in India to travel with a group of new friends.
Best time to visit
November to February is peak season, with pleasant, dry weather and the beaches at their liveliest. March to May gets hot and humid but is quieter. The monsoon, roughly June to September, turns Goa lush and green, though many beach shacks close and the sea gets rough.
How to reach
Goa has two airports, Dabolim and Mopa (Manohar International Airport), with flights from most Indian cities. Madgaon and Thivim are the main railway stations, and Goa is a popular road trip from Pune and Bangalore.

Our Goa backpacking trip is a 4 nights / 5 days road trip starting from ₹11,499 per person. It departs from Pune and Bangalore and covers both halves of the state: a small hike to Cabo de Rama beach, kayaking, sunset at Dona Paula, a hike to the lake near Arambol beach with time for a dip and market shopping, and an evening out at a casino or Tito's Lane (entry fees extra). Trips run every Friday, and groups usually have anywhere from 8 to 50 travellers, with many joining solo.
What is the best time to visit Goa?
November to February is the most popular time, with dry, pleasant weather and a lively vibe. The monsoon months are green and quiet but not ideal for beach time.
How many days are enough for Goa?
Four to five days lets you see both North and South Goa without rushing. Our Goa trip is 4 nights / 5 days.
