Why go to Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand, the land of the gods, is the easiest way to swap Delhi's rush for the mountains. In a single weekend you can camp under pine forests, trek to one of the highest Shiva temples in the world at Tungnath, catch Himalayan views from Auli, or try water sports on Tehri Lake. Quieter hill towns like Chakrata and Mukteshwar offer waterfalls, caves, temples and fresh air, and Kainchi Dham draws visitors for its peaceful ashram. Whatever your vibe, there is a trip here for it.
Best time to visit
March to June is pleasant and great for treks and sightseeing. October and November bring clear skies and crisp mountain views after the monsoon. December to February is snow season in higher places like Auli and Chopta. The monsoon, roughly July to September, can cause landslides on mountain roads.
How to reach
Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport and Pantnagar Airport serve the region, and Dehradun, Haridwar and Kathgodam are the main railheads. Most weekend trips are an overnight drive from Delhi.

For a short, easy break pick Chakrata (from ₹4,499), Kanatal Tehri or Mukteshwar (from ₹4,999). For a trek pick Chopta Tungnath (from ₹6,199), and for snow and big Himalayan views pick Auli (from ₹7,999).
How many days do I need?
A weekend is enough. Our Uttarakhand trips are either 1 night / 2 days or 2 nights / 3 days, leaving from Delhi.
Is the Chopta Tungnath trek good for beginners?
Yes, it is a popular beginner-friendly trek. The trail is well marked, though it is steady uphill, so take it at your own pace.

Yes. Weekend getaways are a great first group trip, and many of our travellers join solo.
What should I pack for Uttarakhand?
Warm layers (nights get cold even in summer), a jacket, comfortable trekking shoes, a rain layer and basic toiletries. In winter add thermals, gloves and a woollen cap.
