Group trips are the easiest way to see the Himalayas, the North-East or South-East Asia without planning every bus, stay and permit yourself. You pay one price, travel with a trip captain and a group of like-minded people, and come back with new friends. But the operators differ a lot in what they run, how long the trips are and what "all-inclusive" really means.
Below we compare four Indian group-travel companies that run fixed departures: Travel Devils, JustWravel, Go4Explore and WanderOn.
How we compared
- What they run: trip types listed on each company's own website (weekend trips, backpacking, treks, international, corporate, custom).
- A like-for-like trip: Winter Spiti, which all four operators sell, using each company's own trip page for duration, route, starting price and inclusions.
- How you pay: GST and part-payment options where the operator states them.
- We did not use ratings or traveller counts, because we can't verify them independently.

Best for: quick weekend escapes from Delhi and budget-friendly Himalayan group trips with a date every week.
We run weekend getaways (Chakrata, Kanatal, Chopta, Auli, Mukteshwar), backpacking trips (Winter Spiti, Leh to Leh, Kashmir, Meghalaya, Goa), heritage trips in Rajasthan and international group trips to Thailand and Vietnam. Most trips depart every Friday, so you pick a weekend that suits you instead of waiting for a batch. Every group travels with a trip captain, groups are usually 8 to 50 people, and many travellers join solo. You can book and pay online, see your bookings and pay any balance from your account, or use our trip planner to request a custom quotation.

JustWravel
Best for: a wide choice of Himalayan backpacking, treks and biking trips.
JustWravel's website lists group trips, backpacking trips, treks, biking trips, corporate tours, domestic tours, international getaways and honeymoon trips, across destinations such as Spiti, Ladakh, Zanskar, Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Tawang, Bhutan, Thailand and Bali. The site states it has operated since 2015. Its Winter Spiti trip is a 9-day Delhi-to-Delhi route with dated batches from October 2026 to May 2027, and it offers no-cost EMI.

Go4Explore
Best for: the widest spread of international destinations.
Go4Explore lists upcoming group trips, international trips, domestic trips, weekend trips, backpacking trips and corporate tours, with international destinations including Europe, Japan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Thailand, Bali and more. The site says it has operated since 2017 and covers "500+ destinations". Its Winter Spiti trip is a 7-day Delhi-to-Delhi route from ₹17,999 on quad sharing, with dated batches from October.

WanderOn
Best for: community-style group trips and festival or event-based travel.
WanderOn's website has sections for upcoming community trips, backpacking trips, weekend trips from Delhi, India trips, international trips, festival and event tours, and corporate tours, MICE and team outings. Its Spiti Valley packages page is titled "From ₹16,499". We couldn't open WanderOn's trip pages at the time of writing, so we haven't compared its inclusions or payment options.

How to choose a group travel company
Whichever operator you go with, ask these before paying:
- What exactly is included? Check meals (how many), transport type, permits, and whether GST is extra.
- How long is the trip, door to door? A "7-day" trip that starts with an overnight bus has fewer days at the destination.
- Who leads the group? Ask if a trip captain travels with you for the whole trip.
- What's the cancellation policy? Read the slabs before you pay the booking amount.
- How big is the group? Sizes vary a lot between operators and batches.
- What happens if weather closes a road? Mountain itineraries change; ask how the operator handles it.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best group travel company in India? It depends on the trip. For weekly weekend departures from Delhi, Travel Devils; for the widest choice of Himalayan treks and biking trips, JustWravel; for the most international destinations, Go4Explore; for community and festival trips, WanderOn. Compare the specific trip you want.
Are group trips cheaper than planning on your own? Often, for remote places like Spiti or Ladakh, because transport, stays and permits are shared across the group. For easy city breaks, planning yourself can cost less.
Is GST included in group trip prices? Usually not. All three operators whose Winter Spiti pages we could read (including us) add 5% GST on top of the displayed price.
Can I join a group trip solo? Yes. Most travellers on these trips join solo or in pairs.
