Overview

A trek in the Kinnaur district followed by a night in Kalpa: this 3 Nights / 4 Days Yulla Kanda and Kalpa Trek leaves Delhi at night for an overnight journey to Tapri/Yulla. The trek is 24 km round trip, reaches a height of 13,500 ft and is graded easy to moderate.

Day 1 arrives in Tapri by late morning and is kept light for acclimatisation, with a trek briefing and dinner in the evening. Day 2 drives to Yulla Village and treks to Yulla Kanda, where a Krishna Temple stands beside a high-altitude lake, before descending to Yulla Base Camp for the night. Day 3 descends to Yulla Village and drives to Kalpa for an evening around Roghi Village, Suicide Point and Kinnaur Kailash View Point. Day 4 is the return journey to Delhi. Transport, two hotel nights, one night of camping, 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 3 dinners and a trip captain are included. Prices start at ₹10,999 per person on quad sharing (5% GST extra).

Day-wise itinerary

00Day 0Departure from Delhi
Depart from Delhi at night. Overnight journey to Tapri/Yulla in the Kinnaur district.
01Day 1Arrival and stay in Tapri/Yulla
Arrive in Tapri by late morning and check in to your hotel. Take the day at a relaxed pace to acclimatise to the altitude. The day is kept light so you are ready for the trek. The Sutlej River flows nearby. In the evening, gather for a detailed trek briefing by your trip captain. Dinner at the hotel.
02Day 2Trek from Yulla Village to Yulla Kanda | Base camp
After an early breakfast, drive to Yulla Village, the starting point of the trek. The trail ascends gradually through alpine landscapes and open meadows. The trek covers approximately 10 km and takes 4 to 6 hours, depending on pace. A packed lunch is provided during the trek. Reach Yulla Kanda, where a Krishna Temple, known as the world's highest, stands beside a high-altitude lake with views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges. Descend to Yulla Base Camp by evening. Dinner and overnight stay in camps.
03Day 3Descent and transfer to Kalpa
Breakfast at the campsite. Descend from the base camp to Yulla Village and proceed by road to Kalpa, a village in Kinnaur. Check in to your hotel and unwind. In the evening, explore Roghi Village and Suicide Point. Visit Kinnaur Kailash View Point. See the traditional wooden architecture and the local monastery. Walk through the apple orchards (seasonal). Watch the sunset over the Kinnaur Kailash range.
04Day 4Return journey
Breakfast with a view of the Himalayan peaks. Check out and begin the return journey to Delhi. Overnight travel back to Delhi.

No refund for no-shows or early check-outs.
Meals, activities or services you don't use aren't adjusted or refunded.
If a trip is cancelled because of political unrest, government guidelines, extremely poor weather or unsafe conditions, you get a full credit (equal to the amount paid) to use on any future Travel Devils booking, not a cash refund.

Reporting point

Departure is at night from Delhi. The exact pickup point and time are shared once your booking is confirmed.

Trek distance: 24 km round trip. Trek height: 13,500 ft. Difficulty level: easy to moderate.
Extra mattresses are provided for triple and quad sharing.
Backpack offloading is available at ₹250 per day per bag.
Carry a valid government-approved photo ID. There is no boarding without it.
The departure time is fixed. Keep your phone reachable and update your trip coordinator; they will try calling you, but we can't hold the bus.
Smoking isn't allowed on the bus.
The itinerary can change because of weather, road conditions or safety. All sightseeing is subject to weather and local authority guidelines.
On hill roads the driver may switch off the AC or sound system. Safety comes first.
Travel insurance isn't included. We recommend buying it before the trip.
Any increase in entry fees, taxes or fuel costs by the government after booking is charged extra.
Extra costs from delays outside our control (natural calamity, vehicle breakdown, road closures) are borne by travellers.
Damage to room or camp furnishings is payable by the guest responsible.

₹10,999 per person on quad sharing, ₹11,499 on triple sharing and ₹11,999 on double sharing. 5% GST is extra.

How long and how difficult is the trek?

The trek is 24 km round trip, reaches a height of 13,500 ft and is graded easy to moderate. On Day 2 the trek from Yulla Village covers approximately 10 km and takes 4 to 6 hours depending on pace. You descend to Yulla Village on Day 3.

Can I offload my backpack?

Yes, at an extra cost. Offloading fees for backpacks are ₹250 per day per bag and are not included in the trip price.

How do I book and pay?

Reserve your seat by paying 50% of the trip cost, and pay the rest at least 4 days before the trip. 5% GST is added to the price.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel more than 10 days before the travel date and 50% of the advance is refunded; 5 to 10 days before, 25% of the advance; less than 5 days before, there is no refund. There is no refund for no-shows or early check-outs.

What do I need to carry?

A valid government-approved photo ID is a must: there is no boarding without it. Also pack comfortable clothes, sports or trekking shoes, a warm layer for the season, personal medicines and some cash. The full list is under Things To Pack.
