Overview

A weekend in the Sainj Valley: this 2 Nights / 3 Days Shangarh group trip leaves Delhi in the evening and travels overnight by AC Tempo Traveller or Volvo. You board at Majnu ka Tilla (nearest metro station: Vidhan Sabha) at 8–9 PM (tentative), with a pickup from Chandigarh at around 1–2 AM.

Day 1 covers Barshangarh waterfall, Shangchul Mahadev Temple and the Shangarh meadow. Day 2 is the trek to Pundrik Rishi Lake (5–6 km) through meadows. Day 3 goes to Raila village for a 1 km hike to the Rupi Raila waterfalls before the drive back from Aut by 7 PM. Travel, a 2-night stay, 4 meals, a bonfire and a team captain are included. Prices start at ₹7,699 per person on quad sharing (5% GST extra).

Leave Delhi at 8–9 PM (tentative) from Majnu ka Tilla; the nearest metro station is Vidhan Sabha. Pickup from Chandigarh at around 1–2 AM. Overnight journey.
01Day 1Explore Shangarh | Local sightseeing
Reach Shangarh by morning. Check in at the homestay and freshen up. Visit Barshangarh waterfall and Shangchul Mahadev Temple. Explore the Shangarh meadow. Return to the homestay. Dinner and overnight stay.
02Day 2Pundrik Rishi Lake trek and temple visit
Wake up to the morning view. Have breakfast and explore the nearby places. Set out on a short trek to Pundrik Rishi Lake (5–6 km). Walk through the meadows to reach the lake and spend time in the surroundings. Return to the stay. Dinner and overnight stay.
03Day 3Raila waterfall and river rafting | Depart for Delhi
Have breakfast and check out from the homestay or campsite. Leave for Raila, a small village with the Rupi Raila waterfalls. Hike to the Rupi Raila waterfalls (1 km). Depart for Delhi from Aut by 7 PM. Reach Chandigarh late at night and Delhi by early morning.

Cancellation Policy

No refund for no-shows or early check-outs.
Meals, activities or services you don't use aren't adjusted or refunded.
If a trip is cancelled because of political unrest, government guidelines, extremely poor weather or unsafe conditions, you get a full credit (equal to the amount paid) to use on any future Travel Devils booking, not a cash refund.

Reporting point

Majnu ka Tilla, Delhi (nearest metro station: Vidhan Sabha). Departure is at 8–9 PM (tentative) on the departure night. Pickup from Chandigarh is also available, at around 1–2 AM.

Early check-in at the stay is subject to availability.
Extra mattresses are provided for triple and quad sharing.
AC will not work in hilly areas.
Carry a valid government-approved photo ID. There is no boarding without it.
The departure time is fixed. Keep your phone reachable and update your trip coordinator; they will try calling you, but we can't hold the bus.
Smoking isn't allowed on the bus.
The itinerary can change because of weather, road conditions or safety. All sightseeing is subject to weather and local authority guidelines.
On hill roads the driver may switch off the AC or sound system. Safety comes first.
Travel insurance isn't included. We recommend buying it before the trip.
Any increase in entry fees, taxes or fuel costs by the government after booking is charged extra.
Extra costs from delays outside our control (natural calamity, vehicle breakdown, road closures) are borne by travellers.
Damage to room or camp furnishings is payable by the guest responsible.

Where and when does the trip start?

The trip leaves Delhi at 8–9 PM (tentative) from Majnu ka Tilla; the nearest metro station is Vidhan Sabha. There is also a pickup from Chandigarh at around 1–2 AM. You travel overnight and reach Shangarh by morning.

How much does the Shangarh and Sainj Valley trip cost?

₹7,699 per person on quad sharing, ₹8,199 on triple sharing and ₹8,699 on double sharing. 5% GST is extra.

What is included?

How much walking is there?

Day 2 has a short trek to Pundrik Rishi Lake of 5–6 km, and Day 3 has a 1 km hike to the Rupi Raila waterfalls. Wear comfortable trekking or sports shoes.

Is river rafting included in the price?

River rafting is named in the Day 3 plan, but adventure activity costs are not included in the package price. You pay for activities separately.

How do I book and pay?

Reserve your seat by paying 50% of the trip cost, and pay the rest at least 4 days before the trip. 5% GST is added to the price.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel more than 10 days before the travel date and 50% of the advance is refunded; 5 to 10 days before, 25% of the advance; less than 5 days before, there is no refund. There is no refund for no-shows or early check-outs.

What do I need to carry?

A valid government-approved photo ID is a must: there is no boarding without it. Also pack comfortable clothes, sports or trekking shoes, a warm layer for the season, personal medicines and some cash. The full list is under Things To Pack.
