Overview

Madhyamaheshwar, known as Dwitiya Kedar or the second abode of Shiva, is a temple reached by a 16 km trek from the village of Ransi. This 2 Nights / 3 Days group departure starts from Delhi: the group meets at the pickup point for a short briefing and leaves by Tempo Traveller between 8 PM and 9 PM for the overnight journey to Ransi.

Day 1 is the drive via Rishikesh, with halts at Devprayag Sangam, Dhari Devi Temple and Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, and a homestay night in Ransi. Day 2 is the trek to Madhyamaheshwar Temple: 6 km downhill to Goundhar and then a 10 km steep ascent, with the evening aarti and a homestay night near the temple. Day 3 starts with the 2 km climb to Budha Madhyamaheshwar, followed by the trek back to Ransi and the overnight drive to Delhi, arriving around 6-7 AM the next morning. Batches run from April to July. Prices start at β‚Ή6,999 per person on quad sharing (5% GST extra).

  1. 00Day 0Departure from Delhi to Ransi (overnight journey)

    Gather at the designated pickup point in Delhi. Meet the team captain and attend a short orientation about the trip. After the briefing, leave between 8 PM and 9 PM for the overnight journey to Ransi by Tempo Traveller.

  2. 01Day 1En route sightseeing | Arrival in Ransi

    Reach Rishikesh in the morning and stop for breakfast. Continue towards Ransi, with halts at Devprayag Sangam and Dhari Devi Temple. Visit Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, where the idols of Kedarnath Ji and Madhyamaheshwar Ji are kept after the temple gates close for winter. After darshan, drive on to Ransi and check in to the homestay. Dinner and overnight stay in Ransi.

  3. 02Day 2Trek to Madhyamaheshwar | Overnight stay near the temple

    Trek distance: 16 km one way. Start the trek at 5:00 AM after chai and bun. The first 6 km are downhill to Goundhar (about 2 hours). Breakfast at Goundhar. Continue with a 10 km steep ascent (7-8 hours) to Madhyamaheshwar Temple. Reach by evening and check in to a local homestay near the temple. Attend the evening aarti and take blessings at the temple. Dinner and overnight stay at the homestay.

  4. 03Day 3Budha Madhyamaheshwar trek | Return to Ransi and depart for Delhi

    Wake up at 4:00 AM and trek 2 km to Budha Madhyamaheshwar (a steep climb of about 1 hour). Budha Madhyamaheshwar is known for its wide Himalayan views, including Chaukhamba, Kedarnath and Mandani peaks. Return to the homestay near the temple for breakfast. Trek down to Ransi (about 8 hours), with lunch at Goundhar on the way. Freshen up in shared rooms at Ransi, then depart for Delhi. Arrive in Delhi early the next morning (6-7 AM).

  • No refund for no-shows or early check-outs.
  • Meals, activities or services you don't use aren't adjusted or refunded.
  • If a trip is cancelled because of political unrest, government guidelines, extremely poor weather or unsafe conditions, you get a full credit (equal to the amount paid) to use on any future Travel Devils booking, not a cash refund.

Departure is in the evening from Delhi; the overnight journey starts between 8 PM and 9 PM. The exact pickup point and time are shared once your booking is confirmed.
  • Stays near Madhyamaheshwar Temple are basic local homestays with 5-6 beds in one room, so that night is on a sharing basis only, with separate rooms for men and women.
  • Extra mattresses are provided for triple and quad sharing.
  • Day 2 is a 16 km trek one way, including a 10 km steep ascent of 7-8 hours, and Day 3 is about 8 hours of trekking back to Ransi.
  • Carry a valid government-approved photo ID. There is no boarding without it.
  • The departure time is fixed. Keep your phone reachable and update your trip coordinator; they will try calling you, but we can't hold the bus.
  • Smoking isn't allowed on the bus.
  • The itinerary can change because of weather, road conditions or safety. All sightseeing is subject to weather and local authority guidelines.
  • On hill roads the driver may switch off the AC or sound system. Safety comes first.
  • Travel insurance isn't included. We recommend buying it before the trip.
  • Any increase in entry fees, taxes or fuel costs by the government after booking is charged extra.
  • Extra costs from delays outside our control (natural calamity, vehicle breakdown, road closures) are borne by travellers.
  • Damage to room or camp furnishings is payable by the guest responsible.

What do I need to carry?
